What still sets Elvie apart in 2026: the Elvie Pump remains the only breast pump in the world certified by Quiet Mark, running at ~28 dB (quieter than a whisper) thanks to a Piezo motor that oscillates 21,000 times per second instead of the diaphragm motors competitors use. The Elvie Stride 2 ships with 6 nipple insert sizes in the box (15–28 mm) — the broadest in-box flange range in the category. And the Pump with Elvie app has been built in from launch, not retrofitted: in-bottle IR sensors track milk volume live, auto-switch from stim to expression on letdown, and auto-pause when the bottle's full.

Note for transparency: Elvie entered administration in the UK in March 2025, and US competitor Willow acquired the brand's assets. The Elvie Stride pump is the most user-friendly wearable pump I have tried! As a working mom of multiples, it is a game changer to not be plugged into the wall while pumping. This pump is comfortable and slim, giving me a great range of motion while in use. Unfortunately, though, I do not feel as though the suction is quite as strong as other pumps I have used. It is great to use on the go, but not the best choice for a primary pump.

Fits well in nursing or pumping bras. I am able to use it with ease while on the go. For example I easily used it while driving. The suction isn't super strong and I couldnt use it efficiently untill my supply was all the way in. But its good for on the go pumping. Also, super easy to clean.

I LOVE how free I can be when I use this pump, and how easy it is to clean and use over and over again. The app is super helpful with tracking milk production as well. Getting the right sizing and position of nipples is hard at first, but once you get the hang of it, the breast pump will be your best friend! My only qualm: I wish the battery life lasted longer. It only lasts me for about 3 sessions. As long as you charge every night like a phone you’ll be fine!

I love this pump. I used it with my first and then it wasn't covered for my second and so I decided to try another pump. It was awful. I went back to using the old Elvie, but ended up ending my bf journey early. This time I am prepared and starting with the Stride because I know it's a great pump. Convenient and works. My only complaint...I need smaller flanges. I don't have my old pump anymore, so cannot reuse what I had. I selected I wanted the 21mm flanges and they were not shipped with the pump. When I reached out to 1NW and asked why, they said I had to deliver first. Makes no sense if that is the correct size I need, why I can't have them sanitized and ready to go as soon as baby gets here, versus waiting until delivered and then to be shipped. I also do not appreciate 1NW requiring in person attendance for their classes. I have two little kids. I cannot guarantee I can attend. Why can I not watch a replay???

Is Elvie still in business after the Willow acquisition?

Yes. Elvie entered administration in the UK in March 2025, and US competitor Willow acquired Elvie's assets the same month. Both brands continue to operate, and Elvie Pump, Elvie Stride, Elvie Stride 2, and Elvie Curve are all still sold, still under warranty, and still available through insurance via 1NW. The combined company now offers pumps across both brand names. The Elvie roadmap is now Willow's responsibility going forward — but day-to-day, nothing has changed for moms ordering Elvie pumps.

Which Elvie pump is fully covered through my insurance?

The Elvie Stride (original) is the Elvie most commonly covered in full on ACA plans 1NW works with. Elvie Stride 2 is typically fully covered or low upgrade fee. Elvie Pump (the all-in-bra premium wearable) almost always carries an upgrade fee. Elvie Stride Plus (Stride + carry bag) typically has a small accessory upgrade fee. Elvie Curve (manual) is usually a partial-coverage add-on with a small co-pay. Check your specific plan in about 2 minutes with our coverage tool.

Should I get the Elvie Pump or the Elvie Stride 2?

They solve different problems. The Elvie Stride 2 is the higher-suction option (300 mmHg vs 220 mmHg), the lower-cost option, and ships with 6 in-box flange sizes — but it has a small external hub on tubing. The Elvie Pump is the all-in-bra category leader: nothing tubes, nothing visible, the only Quiet Mark-certified pump at ~28 dB, with in-bottle IR sensors that auto-pause when full. Rule of thumb: if raw output matters, take the Stride 2; if discretion is the priority (video calls, open offices), take the Elvie Pump.

What's the difference between Elvie Stride and Elvie Stride 2?

Same hospital-grade suction (300 mmHg), same 10 intensity levels, same app, same external-hub-on-tubing architecture. The Stride 2 upgrades are: (a) 6 nipple insert sizes in the box (15–28 mm) vs the original Stride's single 24 mm shield, (b) redesigned ultra-soft silicone cups, and (c) simplified assembly with fewer washable parts. If your plan covers either, pick whichever has the better insurance fit — the suction and pumping experience are essentially identical.

What is Piezo technology and does it actually matter?

The Elvie Pump uses a Piezo (piezoelectric) motor — tiny ceramic discs that vibrate at 21,000 oscillations per second to create suction. Traditional pumps use a diaphragm motor, which is mechanically louder. The Piezo motor is what makes the Elvie Pump the only breast pump certified by Quiet Mark and the quietest wearable on the market (~28 dB, quieter than a whisper). It matters if you'll pump on video calls, in shared workspaces, or while the baby is sleeping nearby. Note: Piezo is only in the Elvie Pump — the Elvie Stride and Stride 2 use conventional motors.

Will my Elvie Pump accessories work with the new Stride 2?

No — Elvie's three electric pumps (Pump, Stride, Stride 2) use different cup and shield systems and are not cross-compatible. The Stride 2 specifically introduced a new ultra-soft silicone cup and a different sizing-insert system from the original Stride. Order replacement parts by exact pump model name, and ask the 1NW care team if you're unsure.
